2. How do I convince myself to do meditation when I am depressed?
A: it’s a very good question and also critical, as it’s very difficult to convince one’s own self to meditate when you are depressed…
For most of the life problems, the best medicine is a good sleep ????, which isn’t easy when you are depressed but there are few things that you can try, like exercise or vigorous physical activity which can exhaust you, so much that you are dropped dead to sleep
OR
find someone with whom you can share your situation not only verbally but also can get caring response, physically like a nice warm hugs and more if needed, which is likely to help you to forget your misery, at least for the time being and during that small period of relief from depression, a flesh of thought may come and prompt you to meditate if you have been thinking about it for trying it out.

3. Do I need to be still to meditate? What about meditating while walking, running, or while engaged in simple chores?
A: It’s difficult without being still to meditate but possible after consistently meditating for a period of a few months, at least, maybe a few years.
And that will be like double arrowhead attention, where you will be fully attentive to your inner and also outer while doing activities like, walking, running, etc..
In Indian old traditions, one of the meditation techniques is called Tantra Vigyan, which is based on the same principles of meditation where you don’t have to be still to do it, as you are having sex with your partner and still be meditating if you are fully aware within yourself as much as you are fully aware out of yourself while performing the sexual activities.
But as I said in the beginning, it’s very difficult and can be meditative only after years of practicing still meditation.

A: Meditation is Doing NOTHING,
Especially no mental activities, like thinking, even if it’s relaxing thinking or hypnosis
or Concentration which are all activities done by mind/thoughts, which are opposite to the Meditating where the mind is not active at all to do any of the activities mentioned above, even though fully aware and alert but totally passive.
